Welcome to our Winter edition of KCA Education Partner Connect!

We are already passed the halfway point of 2019, and since our last communications we have had two more successful student intakes in April and July. The fact is we are continuing to grow, and this was evident with July being our biggest intake to date with almost 120 new students joining us! What we are most proud of at KCA  is our diversity – with over 33 different nationalities in our student mix.

I am also pleased to inform you that we have now launched our new digital platforms that include our website, Facebook and LinkedIn channels. We trust that they assist you in promoting and marketing our programs to your potential clients. Join us on our social platforms to see our latest updates

There is an old saying that ‘the only thing in life that is constant is change’ and with the recent announcements from the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) and the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), it appears as though we may be in for another turbulent year ahead! In saying this, it is evident these announcements have been made in order to protect the quality of the International Education Sector in Australia and those international students that are committed to studying in our wonderful country. I highly recommend you consider attending the Symposium on Leading Education Recruitment for Education Agents that is taking place in Melbourne in September to hear from the experts.

In the ever changing market, we continue to grow and be committed to make a difference in our student’s lives.  We also continue to work with our partners both onshore and offshore in the recruitment of genuine students that are seeking a quality educational experience in Australia.  As always, all this hard work would not be possible without our dedicated team and the support of you, our partners. I would like to thank you for your continued support as we assist our students with their educational journey in Australia.

I trust you will enjoy reading this edition, until next time!

Tony Patterson
Chief Executive Officer

It was a pleasure to welcome all our news students in July in what was our biggest intake to date! With 120 students commencing across our SOP and CBD Campuses, our team was kept busy ensuring that everyone had a great ‘O’ Week experience. This was also on the back of approximately 100 students that commenced in April!
Once again, we were also delighted that all our continuing students returned, which is always a sign that students are enjoying their studies.

Cultural diversity is very important and studying with are people from a range of different backgrounds truly enhances the overall learning experience. We believe our student mix is also one of the reasons for our success. As apart from learning from experienced industry teachers, some of the most important life lessons come from our fellow students.

Currently we have almost 500 International students from 32 different nationalities which now includes students from the Russian Federation and Bangladesh. In fact, we also have a few domestic students that brings our total to 33 different nationalities!

Philippines remains our number one market with Brazil 2nd  and China 3rd, followed closely by Indonesia.

We thought you may be interested to know what our students are currently studying by faculty. While our Early Childhood Education packaged programs still remain the most popular choice, there is a rising trend in our Aged Care and Community Services and Social Media Marketing programs. It is also great to see some of our students have now also commenced their Leadership and Management course as a part of their continued studies.
We are always amazed how our students and trainers interact in order to transform their learning spaces! Already this term our new Aged Care students have created an interactive wall that reflects the eight Aged Care Standards, while also putting their arts and craft skills to work in developing a simulated environment.

Our Early Childcare students have also been busy converting their learning space to reflect the 3 ‘B’s’ of Childcare: “Belonging, Being, Becoming.

It is wonderful witnessing this type of interaction throughout our campuses – after all VET learning should be fun!
Gaining practical skills before heading to work placement is an important part of our Early Childcare and Aged care programs.

  • Did you know that KCA now has over 150 industry partners that are assisting our students with their Work Placement?
  • Did you also know that we have a full time dedicated Workplace Coordinator who assists all our students with their Work Placement?

Through our networks and the quality of training, we are in a fortunate position to be able to assist placing our students in reputable childcare centres and residential facilities so they can continue to build on their practical skills while gaining valuable work experience!

Our Masterclasses continue to be a success and are a great opportunity for your potential students at KCA! During June we offered Masterclasses for Childcare and Social Media Marketing at the CBD Campus that was attended by over 40 participants.

Our next Masterclass will be held on the 19th of September and this time, it will include a focus on our Aged Care & Community Services courses, along with Early Childhood Education and Care. Please book a space for you and your clients to experience being a KCA student for a day!

It’s always great when we have our students interact with industry. Our Aged Care students recently had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Australian Red Cross to find out more information about their Blood Service and the importance of donating!

It is with pleasure that we can share one of our new student testimonials with you.  We will be releasing a lot more of these shortly and they will be also featured on our new website!

Since the inception of KCA, we have always maintained our presence in the offshore markets. June was a very busy month for Tony, who attended the Australian Future Unlimited Education Exhibition (AFUEE) in Japan, and also visited our education partners in Taiwan. Thanks to our Japanese partner MYSTAGE for your continued support!

As you may be aware the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) and the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) have recently made announcements that may impact the international VET Sector. However, it is evident these announcements and proposed changes have been made in order to protect the quality of the International Education Sector in Australia and those international students that are committed to studying in our wonderful country.

As a quality provider of education, KCA supports these changes and continually worked with industry specialist and peak bodies to maintain keep ahead of the latest trends in the education sector.

A great way to keep ahead of some of the recent announcement is to attend the ‘Symposium on Leading Education Recruitment’ for Education Agents that is taking place in Melbourne on September 17! They have developed a great platform of topics that will reflect the theme of ‘Trust and Transparency.
